This is my more esoteric translation, in iambic pentameter, of Sonnet 164 by Petrarch. <\/p>\n
\nHor che\u2019l ciel e la terra e\u2019l vento tace,
\ne le fere e gli augelli il sonno affrena,
\nnotte il carro stellato in giro mena,
\ne nel suo letto il mar senz\u2019onda giace.<\/p>\n
Veglio, penso, ardo, piango; e chi mi sface
\nsempre m\u2019\u00e8 innanzi per mia dolce pena;
\nguerra \u00e8\u2019l mio stato, d\u2019ira et di duol piena,
