As I was working on &#8220;Checkmate: The Enigma of Reinhard Heydrich&#8221; I was inspired to write a completely different story to reflect the dark life in Germany after WW I. This is a dark tale, but unfortunately things like this can and do happen during hard times to many children in the world. At least this story has a happy ending &mdash; in the sense that the villains are punished.
