Matter is darkness and consciousness is light. Yet our age considers materialism, the notion that nothing exists but matter, to be the sign of intelligence. Sigmund Freud showed us how there is a drive in his patients toward matter, which he called the death instinct. Collectively, our age loves death. The Primacy of Will

When the mind is attached to or obsessed with these thought forms, it is not free. The True Will is free, but that requires the zone of silence from such thoughts. The visionary Anne Catherine Emmerich claimed that if these spirits could be seen by the senses, the vast number of them would occlude the sky. In practical terms, that means that various thoughts are constantly impinging both on the individual as well as on the human race.
