@ Francesco: Thanks for refreshing my memory. Its been a while since I’ve studied Chinese metaphysics.
@ Cologero: I’ve got to start studying Tomberg

Cologero, you should have made it clearer that you are describing the Principles of Manifestation, and not the physical world itself. So those five principles enumerated by Guenon are necessary conditions for the physical world. Obviously you left out the details about the five qualitative elements, one of which would be energy, not to mention the flora and fauna, etc. I presume that will come later.
Other factors, such as the Real I and True Will are transcendental to the physical world, so they don’t enter into this discussion. I hope the main point is not missed because of that.

Excellent post. I was wondering if I would come across something about the Form of the Good on Gornahoor. It (being the fact/reality that a moral idea can accord with) provides an explanation of how moral ideas can be said to be “true.”

@Constantine: “Matter is condensed energy and energy is condensed consciousness.” ~ Valentin Tomberg
@fractal: What you say is the opposite of gnosis. We are not interested in “defining” but in “knowing”, and that was stated perfectly clearly. All the points brought up in the piece can be “known” directly.
But here is your definition for your benefit, it is not so mysterious:
“Energy density is the amount of energy stored in a given system or region of space per unit volume or mass, though the latter is more accurately termed specific energy.”

Constantine: Imo, Qi can be handled under the five conditions of manifestation, some more than others Perhaps in the same way that Sophia is not a fourth hypostasism but the life shared in common by the trinity; Qi is not another condition, but something shared commonly among form, matter, and life.
In Chinese metaphysics, there are a great number of “Qis”: human body qi (then specific organ and system qi types), cosmological qi (astrology), environmental qi (feng shui), and so on. To see how better how this concept is subsumed in the five conditions, we might consider the famous Chinese character for Qi–which is a pot of rice gruel cooking, with steam raising from the vessel lid–it is interpreted as “it moves”, or “acts”.
The Classics explain “Qi is the commander of Blood; Blood is the mother of Qi”, and that “Qi follows where the Shen (consciousness) leads”.

Well , don’t put the blame on our Friend Cologero : you see, I studied Physics at the University , even if now I am more in the Scientific Translation “business” …

Reading through this article I felt something was missing. You make a good point fractal, what about energy (chi, prana…)?

There’s only ENERGY (*) , in its different & various levels of DENSITY .
(*) : Now , one could ask : What’s Energy ? how could you define it ?
Well, that’s another point ! …
