There are Evola promoters who rue the influence that Guenon had over Evola. However, Evola would not be Evola without that influence. In his monograph on Guenon, Evola warned against a sterile Guenonian scholasticism. But that only applies to questions of a contingent nature, that is, how to apply principles to a given situation. For example, Evola and Guenon disputed the Traditional character of Buddhism and Freemasonry. The principles themselves, however, are never in dispute. As metaphysical truths, they are true always and everywhere, in all possible worlds.
In the chapter on Reincarnation in “The Spiritist Fallacy”, Guenon demonstrates the impossibility of two things being equal in every way. In Pagan Imperialism, Evola employs precisely the identical argument in the social sphere, where he demonstrates the logical impossibility of an egalitarian society.
